The Swiss Super League is the top professional soccer league in Switzerland. It is composed of ten teams and has a system of promotion and relegation with the Challenge League, the second tier league.
A Swiss Super League seasons run from July to late May or early April. Teams meet each other four times during the course of the season (total of 35 games each).
At the end of each season the lowest placed Swiss Super League team is relegated to the Challenge League and the winning team from the Challenge League is promoted in their place.
