GBL (Greek Basketball League) A1 Over Under Bet

The Greek Basket League (GBL), originally called Panhellenic Basketball Championship, is the first tier professional basketball league in Greece. It is run by Hellenic Basketball Clubs Association (HEBA) (Greek: ΕΣΑΚΕ), under the legal authority of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). The GBL is also known as the Stoiximan.gr Greek Basket League for sponsorship reasons.

In GBL over under betting, you are wagering that the game's number of points would either be over or under a specified total. A GBL over under bet looks like:

Panathinaikos	Over 116	-115
Olympiacos	Under 116	-105

In the example above, betting $115 on "over 116 points" wins you $100 if the game's total points is 117 or more. Meanwhile, betting $105 on "under 116 points" wins you $100 if the game's total points is 115 or less.

If in case the game ends with a total of 116 points, the bookmaker will declare it a push (tie), and all bets are retuned.

The winner of the game is irrelevant to the outcome of the GBL over under bet. All that matters is the score.

The league is composed of 30 basketball teams which are split into two different divisions. The first division championship is called the "A1", in which 14 teams compete for the Greek National Championship. The second division championship is called the "A2", in which 16 teams compete for the second division crown.

The bottom two place finishing teams each year in the A1 division standings are relegated to the A2 division, due to poor performance. While conversely, the top two teams each year from the A2 division are promoted to the A1 division, due to good performance.

The league runs from October to June, with A1 teams playing 26 games each during the regular season, and the top 8 teams then competing for the playoffs.

The first official Greek Basketball Championship was held in the 1927–28 season. The league first held a playoff round in the 1986-87 season.
