The EuroLeague is a Europe-wide professional basketball league organized by Euroleague Basketball for eligible European basketball clubs. It is currently called the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague for sponsorship reasons.
Introduced in 2000, the competition replaced the FIBA EuroLeague (called the FIBA European Champions Cup / European Cup), which had been run by FIBA since 1958.
A Euroleague over under bet looks like:
|Real Madrid||Over 2266||-110|
|Saitama Seibu Lions||Under 226||-110|
In the example above, betting $110 on "Over 226" points wins you $100 if the game's total score reaches 227 or higher. Meanwhile, betting $110 on "Under 226" points wins you $100 if the game's total score is 225 or lower.
If in case the games ends with a total of 226, the bookmaker will declare it a push (tie), and all bets are returned. The winner of the game is irrelevant to the outcome of the Euroleague over under bet. All that matters is the score.
Starting with the 2016–17 season, EuroLeague uses a system where the champions of the best European national domestic leagues, along with some of the other biggest teams from the most important national domestic leagues, play in a Europe-wide league system format.
EuroLeague currently features 16 teams. Every team plays a total of 30 games. Each team plays the other teams twice, once at home and once away in a round-robin format. The regular season lasts from October to April.
At the end of the regular season, the top 8 placed teams advance to the playoffs which are held as four individual 5 game playoff series. The higher placed team in the regular season standings of each playoff matchup has home-court advantage in each playoff series.
The winners of each of the four playoff series advance to the Final Four, which is held at a predetermined site. The Final Four features two semifinals games, a third place game, and the championship game.
